Le Marche natural heritage is impressive, almost 90,000 hectares of land are covered by two national parks, four regional parks and six nature reserves. The beauty and richness of this region means it can offer different opportunities for everyone. Le Marche also has one of the highest number of Blue Flag beaches of any region in Italy, 17 in total, and is high on the list of regions with the most beautiful villages in Italy as well.

Sports and Leisure Activities in Le Marche
You can take part in many different sports and leisure activities in Le Marche.
Golf Lovers
The nearest course for your golf holiday is Golf Club I Lauri, which is just over a 30 minute drive away from the Hotel Leone. The Golf Club I Lauri is an amateur golf club, with 9-holes located in the heart of Val d’Aso, often called the “green oasis” thanks to its location. Part of the Club house is also a restaurant, bar and TV room.
Another golf course is Conero Golf Club at Sirolo, which is over an hour away from the hotel. It offers a championship standard 18-hole course for the keen golfer as well as a 9-hole course more suitable for beginners. The Conero Golf Club is nestled in the hills of the Conero National Park overlooking the sea.
Water sports
The Le Marche coastline covers 180 km, and is a great place for all kinds of water sports. For those who are keen to try diving, there is a PADI diving center at Numana. The diving school offers a range of courses from the most basic to the most advanced level of Divemaster Guide. They also offer equipment hire if you are already a qualified diver so you can enjoy the beauty of the underwater life of the Conero National Park.
For those who would rather stay above the water, you can enjoy windsurfing or kitesurfing at Civitanova and Porto Sant’Elpidio, canoeing or paddle boarding at Lake Fiastra, sailing at Civitanova or yachting at the Le Marche Yacht Club at Porto San Giorgio. You can also hire boats at Lake Fiastra and Lake Cingoli.
Horse riding
Trekking on horseback is probably one of the best ways to explore the beautiful countryside of Le Marche and to appreciate the landscape the slow way. Imagine being in the Sibillini Mountains in the heart of Le Marche and riding through native woods, rolling hills, rivers, lakes and the foothills of this impressive mountain range and enjoying all breathtaking views that the mountains offer. Simply an unforgettable experience.
Quad Bikes, Mountain Bikes & Canoes
If you are in the Sibillini Mountains or at picturesque Lake Fiastra and fancy something more active than spending your day on the beach, you can hire bikes, canoes or rent a quad bike.
Quad biking in the Sibillini National Park is great fun. It’s a good way to explore nature and the local countryside with a local guide, who takes you to some of the most beautiful places in the park. Most people who try it can’t resist returning for more.
Winter Sports in Le Marche: Skiing & Snowboarding
You can enjoy winter sports in Le Marche. Into skiing and snowboarding? The ski resort of Sassotetto should definitely be on your list. It’s the main resort of Le Marche for skiing and snowboarding.
It’s an ideal Italian ski resort for experienced skiers and for beginners too. The Sassotetto resort is located near Sarnano and there is a regular bus service going up to the resort.
At Sassotetto you can find two restaurants, ski, board, and boot hire and ski pass sales.
Hot Air Ballooning – The Ultimate Way to See Le Marche
